Pacesetters "Bowl for Kids’ Sake"
It is that time of year again to dust off those bowling shoes and have fun for a great cause. It’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake 2010 and this year’s event will be better than ever. Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama YMCA is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States . Locally, we have matched thousands of kids ages 5 – 18 with mentors over the past 15 years. We contribute our success to our volunteer base and know that if it were not for our community partners and contributors, our organization would not be able to positively impact the many lives we do. Bowl for Kids’ Sake is our signature fundraising event – it is our largest and most successful fundraiser nationwide. All funds invested in our agency will be used to directly support our local mentoring services, which entail thorough background and reference checks of volunteers, mentor/youth training, and educational activities sponsored by our agency that develop their leadership skills and expose the children to new experiences.
If it’s not something that interests you there may be someone you know that would love to get involved. Attached you’ll find copies of the updated BFKS info…please be sure to contact me if you need any additional information.

Shelter/Center where we provide srvices for homeless men with secondary issues of substance abuse and drug dependency. The event will take place on the center grounds.

We will be teaming up with MS Blood Services to get people to donate blood. Alot of Sickle Cell patients are in the hospital this time of the year in need of blood, so when would be a better time to donate blood than now. There will be door prizes given alot of people are donating items & food for that day call us if you would like to donate anything. There willl be info there to educate u on Sickle Cell Anemia things u don't know. This is for a good cause bring ur families out to support this drive.
